Real Madrid talisman Cristiano Ronaldo has commented on his comparisons with Liverpool star Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian has had a stellar season with Liverpool scoring 44 goals in all competitions and helping Liverpool to their first Champions League Final in 13 years. Salah would be looking to cap off his incredible season with Champions League triumph.
The Champions League Final also marks the individual battle between Cristiano Ronaldo and Mohamed Salah, who have lit up the Champions League with their goals with Cristiano scoring 15 goals while Salah scoring 10 goals in 12 games so far.
It is also believed that if Cristiano wins the Champions League, he’ll be the favorite to lift the Ballon d’Or and if Liverpool win the Champinos League, Salah can bring an end to Leo Messi and Ronaldo’s Ballon d’Or dominance.
Salah’s fantastic debut season at Anfield has seen him draw comparisons with Cristiano Ronaldo. However, his Manager Jurgen Klopp was quick to dismiss the comparisons saying that “Mo Salah is 15 years behind Cristiano Ronaldo.”
Cristiano Ronaldo has himself now commented on the comparisons drawn with Mohamed Salah. In the interview before the UCL Final, Ronaldo was asked if he sees any similarities between himself and Salah and the Portuguese answered:
“Not really. He is completely different. He plays with the left, I play with the right. I’m tall, he’s a little bit shorter, I play with the head.”
“We are completely different. People want to compare me with other players but I’m different from everyone. Salah is different from others but I have to say that he has had a fantastic Champions League and a fantastic league season, but Saturday, let’s see,” concluded Ronaldo, as reported by Metro.
