Cristiano Ronaldo talks to the media after disappointing loss to Young Boys

Juventus progress to the Champions League round of 16 as group leaders despite suffering a shock defeat against Young Boys at Bern, Switzerland. Allegri’s side cut a sorry night in Bern as the Young Boys put on a solid display to refuse Ronaldo and Co for a victory. Dybala however, scored a consolation goal to make the scoreline a bit respectable.

Juventus now await their round of 16 opponents as the Italian side has been predicted as the favorites of this season’s Champions League with the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Juventus possible opponents for the round of 16 are Liverpool, Tottenham, Atletico Madrid, Schalke, Ajax and Lyon. Allegri’s side will be hoping to avoid Liverpool as Klopp’s men have been in red hot form this season.

Cristiano Ronaldo had a sad night in Bern, Switzerland as he failed to find the back of the net despite many efforts. One of his efforts struck the post as the frustrating night continued for the Portuguese.

However, Ronaldo did set up Dybala at the edge of the box to help him score Juve’s only goal of the night as the Italians were beaten 2-1.

Talking about a frustrating night in Switzerland, Ronaldo said:

“Obviously we wanted to win and we are not happy to come back with a defeat but I’m calm because I know the potential of this team and my potential.”

“I could have easily scored a couple of goals but this is football, we have to start focusing on the next game.”

However, Ronaldo insisted that his side will be ready for the knock out stages of the Champions League as the tournament now enters its crunch phase.

“The beautiful part of the Champions League starts now and I’m confident that we will be fully ready for it,” said Cristiano.

Juventus will be looking to shift their focus on the Turin Derby as they face Torino this weekend. Allegri’s side will be looking to get back to winning ways.
