Gigi Buffon has amazing words for Cristiano Ronaldo and his new style of play

Cristiano Ronaldo and Gigi Buffon will once again come across each other as the pair is set to meet next week during their Champions League Quarter Final tie. Buffon has never kept a clean sheet against Cristiano Ronaldo and the Portuguese would back himself to keep the record going against the Italian.

The latest meeting of Buffon and Ronaldo was in Cardiff last year during the Champions League Final when Ronaldo’s brace helped Madrid win 4-1 and become European Champions for a record 12th time.

However, Buffon would be hoping for a change in fortunes this time around as he faces Ronaldo and Real Madrid in the Quarter Finals.

The good sign for Juventus and Buffon is that Real Madrid have struggled to beat Juventus in two legged games and the Italians would definitely fancy their chances against Real Madrid.

Talking about the upcoming Champions League fixture in an official club interview, Buffon revealed his massive admiration for Cristiano Ronaldo and his changed style of play.

“Over time [Ronaldo] has learned how to improve himself as an athlete.”

“As a player, he spends less energy with respect to what he did previously. I admire him a lot because he is a pragmatic person, lucid in everything he does and what he says. ”

“I think that in recent years he has shown that he is very intelligent, because he has changed his way of playing.”

“He is also lethal, everything he does is at 100 percent and in front of the goal he is an assassin.”

There’s no doubt that Gigi would be keeping an eye on Real Madrid’s talisman as he hopes to keep his Champions League hope alive, the only title which has not been hugged by Gigi thus far.
