The debate over the penalty is still going on in the Italian media and Pirlo had his take on the issue saying:

“Is it a penalty? I think yes. But I understand Buffon; I would’ve gone crazy too.”

“I think he exaggerated the part about a crime against the humanity of sports being committed, but it should be understood that it was his last game in the Champions League and he expected to win it.”

“The Madrid penalty could be given, but the referee in certain situations can avoid giving it too.”

“This elimination will have repercussions, and the disappointment remains, but after a few days Juventus will look to the league and the Italian Cup.”

Juventus now turn their attention to Serie A where they face Sampdoria this season.  Juventus will be looking to keep their 4 point lead at the top of Serie A table as the season reaches its climax.
