Champions League

Klopp notes one weak link in the Madrid team

Real Madrid face Liverpool this Saturday in the Champions League Final. Both sides have had below average domestic campaigns and they would be looking to make the most of this Champions League Final. Real Madrid will be eyeing their third successive Champions League title while Liverpool looking to win their first since Istanbul 2005.

Liverpool Manager Jurgen Klopp talked about the Champions League in an interview held by former Liverpool Player Robbie Fowler. It is often said that Madrid are lucky to be in the Final, however Klopp dismissed that notion.

“Everyone says that Real Madrid had luck eliminating Juventus and Bayern, but it is the third year in a row that they are in a final, and the fourth in five years.”

“They (Real Madrid) needed four chances to score twice, and in the semi-finals Bayern needed eight to score one.”

“We will do everything we can in the final and it will be decided in the decisive moments when the opportunity arises,” said Klopp. (As reported by Spanish Website MARCA)

Klopp also noted one weak link in Madrid as the left wing as Marcelo often goes out attacking and leaves the open space.

“Marcelo is a player who attacks a lot but he doesn’t defend. But football isn’t as easy as saying ‘If Marcelo joins the attack on the right we leave Salah in that space’ because our player will meet with Sergio Ramos,” concluded Klopp. (as per Spanish Website MARCA)

The bulid up to the match is getting crazy and crazy with every passing day and we just can’t wait for the game to start in Kiev.
