Liverpool legend criticizes Ronaldo, Ramos and Marcelo before the UCL Final

It’s less than a week before Real Madrid and Liverpool lock horns for the much anticipated UEFA Champions League Final in Kiev. The game promises to be an entertainer as both teams have an attacking style of play. The UCL Final could also decide the Ballon d’Or for the season as Ronaldo and Salah look in search of glory for their respective teams.

Liverpool legend, Graeme Souness believes that Liverpool have what it takes to beat Real Madrid but they have to rise to the occasion to win the Champions League. Souness himself won 3 European Cups for the reds including the 1981 Final in which they defeated Real Madrid.

Souness wrote in his column at the Sunday Times and criticized Real Madrid’s three most important players Cristiano, Ramos and Marcelo. Talking about Real Madrid Captain Sergio Ramos and Vice-Captain Marcelo, he said:

“Sergio Ramos is capable of a rash lunge or elbow, but is a really good player. Marcelo, their Brazilian left-back, can’t defend. His strength is in the attacking third but he goes around trying to get people booked all the time,” said Souness as per Liverpool Echo.

Souness also criticized Cristiano Ronaldo as he said:

“Cristiano spends a lot of time on his bum now, complaining he’s been fouled, and plays the width of the box. He’s still capable of great things but, like Real, nowhere near where he was even 12 months ago.”

“I hope it doesn’t come back to bite me, and Liverpool, but he’s not quite the power he was, no longer has the pace to get away from people instantly,” concluded Souness as quoted by Liverpool Echo.
