Real Madrid star player can be ruled out of PSG second leg due to knee injury

Real Madrid defeated Paris Saint Germain in the first leg of the much awaited Round of 16 clash few days back. The European Champions were the more impressive team on the night and they made PSG pay for their missed chances and ended up winning the game 3-1 on the night.

Real Madrid now travel to Paris in a couple of weeks’ time to face PSG in the return leg. Though a 2-0 lead will be important for Madrid but Zidane’s side would be wary of the important away goal PSG have scored.

Having said that, Zinedine Zidane has already suffered an injury blow to one of his most important players. Toni Kroos is feared to be ruled out of the second leg against PSG if he doesn’t return in time from his knee injury.

Kroos ran 13kms in the first leg at the Bernabeu which is the most distance covered by any Real Madrid player. The German gave his all in the first leg and he was instrumental in the midfield for the European Champions.

Kroos underwent a medical examination earlier today in which he got to know about his knee ligament injury. Parc Des Princess awaits exactly 18 days from now and Kroos will be battling with time to get fit for the return leg.

Toni Kroos is already ruled out of Real Madrid’s La Liga fixture against Real Betis this Sunday. The German will be hoping for a quick recovery and to help his side progress to the next round of the Champions League.
