Cristiano Ronaldo has enjoyed a spectacular start to his Juventus career. The Portuguese finishes as the Top Scorer of the Serie A after half way through the league season. Ronaldo’s 14 goals from 19 games made sure that he will walk into the New Year as the Top Scorer of Juventus and Serie A. Juventus sit 9 points clear at the top of the league as now their focus switches to the Champions League.
The UEFA Champions League has entered its knock out phase as the competition is set to restart in February. Ronaldo also shared his thoughts about the biggest competition in club football.
Talking to the Portuguese Newspaper “Record” in an interview, Ronaldo revealed his best moment in 2018.
“Best moment of 2018? It was my fifth Champions League trophy and the third consecutive Champions League win with Real Madrid. But my arrival to Juventus was also a very good moment as I was received very well.”
Ronaldo was questioned if he was upset about missing out on individual trophies and the Portuguese answered:
“I’m not obsessed about winning individual prizes. The most important thing is to win trophies with the team. I’m not a hypocrite, I don’t hide that I’m not happy when I win, but when I don’t win, its not the end of the World. I respect the decision of those who voted but the numbers speak for themselves.”
Ronaldo was also asked about the possibility of facing his former club Real Madrid in the Champions League and if we could see the two sides coming across in the Final. However, Ronaldo replied:
“For now, I just hope for Juventus to make it to the Quarter Finals. We must take everything step by step. Experience has taught me that everything is possible in the Champions League. It’s a dream to win the Champions League with Juventus but we cannot make it an obsession.”
“The Bernabeu was my home for many years and it will always be a very special stadium for me. I will always have a great affection for that club and those fans and I expect to be well received.”
