Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo talks to the media for the first time after losing the Ballon d’Or to former teammate Luka Modric. Ronaldo came second in the voting for Ballon d’Or and his amazing 2018 went in vain as the Portuguese failed to win the European player of the Year, FIFA the Best and Ballon d’Or, losing all the awards to Luka Modric.
In his recent interview uploaded by Gazetta and Tuttosport, Cristiano Ronaldo has talked about the recent Ballon d’Or and he also commented about the difference in Real Madrid and Juventus. Asked about the difference in groups, Ronaldo said:
“I can say that this is the best group I’ve ever played. Here we are a team, elsewhere someone feels bigger than others but here they are all on the same line, they are humble and want to win.”
“If Dybala or Mandzukic do not score, you still see them happy, smile. For me it is beautiful, I perceive the difference. Even in Madrid they were humble but here … I feel they are more so. It is very different from Madrid, this is more a family.”
Ronaldo was also asked how would he react if he gets to face his former club Real Madrid in the Champions League and he answered:
“For me it is the same. The past has passed, now I want to win for Juventus, I have to defend these colors and the rest does not count. If I played against Real, I would try to give my best.”
Ronaldo also commented about the recently concluded Ballon d’Or and congratulated Luka Modric.
“I thought that I deserved it. I did everything on the field, the numbers do not lie. But it’s not the end of the World, I respect the decision and congratulations to Luka Modric.”
“Disappointed? Yes, but life goes on and I will work hard to win it next year.”
