Ronaldo reveals an incident when a Roma player begged him to stop

Juventus face Roma in their Serie A fixture this weekend and Juve’s talisman made an interesting revelation about facing the Italian club. Juventus have so far enjoyed a historical campaign winning 46 points out of 48 and are still unbeaten in the league. However, their focus would be on winning against Roma and maintaining that record.

Juventus now welcome Roma at their home who currently stand at the 7th place in Serie A standings having won 24 points from their first 16 games.

Cristiano Ronaldo recalls an incident while playing for Manchester United against Roma where Roma player had to beg him. Manchester United went into the game having lost 2-1 at Stadio Olimpico. Roma had the upper hand but then things took a dramatic turn.

In the return leg at Old Trafford, Man United inspired by an amazing performance by Cristiano Ronaldo, beat Roma 7-1 and made it to the Semi Finals on an aggregate score of 8-3.

Michael Carrick opened the score for the home side, while Alan Smith and Wayne Rooney made it 3-0 to give a clear advantage to Man United. Ronaldo then struck a wonderful brace to made it clear that Man United have done more than enough to brush away the Roma challenge.

Carrick struck again for the hosts to make it 6-0 but De Rossi pulled one goal back for the visitors just to see Evra restoring the 6 goal lead minutes later. The night ended with Man United winning 7-1 and making it to the Semi Finals.

Ahead of Juve’s fixture against Roma, Ronaldo recalls the Man United vs Roma game and reveals an incident from the game.

“When it was 6-0, they asked me to stop. A Roma player begged me to stop dribbling. Others threatened me that they will hurt me. I would not exchange a shirt with any Roma player.”
