Real Madrid prepare to face Rayo Vallecano in La Liga tomorrow. Los Blancos can’t afford to slip up further points as they are already trailing Barcelona by 5 points. Santiago Solari will be hoping that his side will put the CSKA demons to bed and turn on the show against 19th ranked Rayo Vallecano side who are battling relegation.
Santiago Solari appeared before the press ahead of his side’s La Liga clash with Rayo. Talking about facing Rayo, Solari said:
“Rayo manage the ball very well and don’t give it away easily. We’ll go out to win from the very first minute with energy and solidity.”
Solari was asked if Gareth Bale is expected to feature in the game against Rayo and the Madrid manager answered:
“We’ll see how it develops. We will talk with the doctors and with Bale and then we will decide.”
Solari was also asked to express his views on Isco’s angry gesture towards the crowd. Footage showed that Isco said some harsh words towards the crowd who were jeering at him. However, Solari played down the issue by saying:
“I saw it from far away. I thought he was protesting a corner or a foul, I’m not sure. I understand your focus is to make a narrative but our focus is on other things and for now, our focus is on tomorrow’s game.”
Solari was questioned if the fans jeers effect the morale of the team and he replied:
“I also heard applause the other day. The fans express themselves and that is valid and has to be respected. In these 115 years of history, we have achieved everything with the support of our fans. We hope they help and push us on.”
Real Madrid will be looking to end on a high with a win against Rayo before travelling to Dubai for the Club World Cup.
