Xavi reveals the two Real Madrid players he would love to sign for Barcelona

Barcelona legend Xavi Hernandez has revealed the two Real Madrid players whom he would have liked to see at the Catalan club. The former World Cup winner is playing these days in Qatari club Al Sadd and also works as the coach of underage players and as an adviser of the World Cup 2022 organizers.

Xavi won 24 titles in his illustrious Barcelona career and he won four Uefa Champions League titles along with eight La Liga titles during his tenure at Barcelona.

Xavi spoke about Real Madrid’s Spanish Youngsters, Isco and Asensio but he insisted that these boys didn’t impress him a lot.

“These youngsters need to know what [Euro 2008-winning Spain coach] Luis Aragones told me,” he said. “Do you want to play pretty football or good football? I don’t want to name names, but in La Liga many players have impressed and then disappeared without trace. They do tricks, but for what? Messi does not do tricks, never. Messi goes for the kill. Messi is good football, and so good at the same time that it becomes pretty.”

Xavi was also asked to reveal any player from the current Madrid squad whom he would like to see in Barcelona and the Spaniard answered:

“Kroos and Modric! How did they not sign for Barca? They are players who you can see fit the Barca profile.”

Real Madrid will be looking towards Kroos and Modric to get Madrid back in form. The Spanish Champions crashed out of the Copa Del Rey and now the UEFA Champions League remains the only competition which they can realistically win.
