Zidane answers question for dropping Bale on bench

Zinedine Zidane’s Real Madrid edged out Paris Saint Germain with an impressive 1-2 victory at Parc des Princess with an overall aggregate of 5-2. Zidane’s men started the game confidently having secured a 2 goal lead from the first leg and Cristiano Ronaldo put the visitors in further command after rocketing a bullet header into the back of the net from Lucas Vasquez cross.

PSG got back into the game thanks to a goal by Edinson Cavani but any hopes for a miraculous comeback were soon shattered as Casemiro found the back of the net to make it a 1-2 win for Real Madrid.

Madrid Manager Zidane was all praise for his side in the post match press conference. The Madrid Manager said:

“We overcome everything and that’s how we will continue going forwards to achieve something. Having everyone that we have, I chose a starting XI.”

“They played well, they trained well too. I want to congratulate the players. They played a good and focused game from the start.”

“It was important to play like that. We won in a difficult stadium. Just like in the first leg we’re satisfied and happy.”

Zidane was questioned over the exclusion of Gareth Bale from the Starting XI. The Welshman must not be very happy to be left out of the big game. However, Zidane answered:

“Don’t worry about him not playing this tie because he will play.”

“I’m sure he would like to play more, but we have many games. We will keep doing what we’re doing. I think everyone is important, that’s how I see it, and Bale is one of those.”

Los Blancos now face Eibar in La Liga this Saturday and the whites would be looking to keep the winning run going as they await their Champions League opponents for the Quarter Finals.
