Barcelona Star Leo Messi blames two teammates for Champions League exit

Barcelona were shocked in Rome as their 4-1 first leg advantage wasn’t enough for them to Qualify to the Semi Finals of the Champions League. On a night where all expected Barcelona to go through, Roma pulled off arguably one of the greatest comebacks in football history to deny Barcelona a treble.

Edin Dzeko scored in the sixth minute of the game to give some hope to the home fans before De Rossi’s penalty started to give believe to everyone.

Roma stayed strong at the back and their patience was rewarded when on the 82nd minute, Manolas header find its way into Barcelona’s net from a corner and wild celebrations erupted in Rome.

This was one of the greatest nights in Champions League history for Rome as most people had probably written them off after a huge deficit in the first leg.

Barcelona star Leo Messi was very unhappy with the result and he has lashed out at some players for not putting up enough effort and concentration to the match.

According to Diario Gol, Leo Messi blamed Samuel Umtiti for the defeat saying that the Frenchman was not enough focused on the match. Umtiti wants Barcelona to raise his pay as Man United come calling for the Frenchman. However, Messi was angry with Umtiti at half time and gave him a harsh talk in the dressing room and Messi thinks his transfer interest was the reason for his lack of .concentration.

One more player who got tough words from Leo Messi during the break was Jordi Alba. The Argentine believes the Spaniard lacked the intensity demanded for the big Champions League night.
