Iker Casillas leaves special words for Cristiano Ronaldo

Real Madrid put one foot into the Champions League Semi Final as they won 0-3 away at Juventus. Real Madrid started the game in fine fashion as they got into the lead as soon as the third minute, thanks to a brilliant finish by the record All Time Champions League top scorer, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Juventus put on a fighting show in the first half as they threated the Real Madrid goal on a number of occasions. Keylor Navas however, made sure that the game stays in Madrid’s favour by guarding his goal with great determination.

Ronaldo’s acrobatic overhead goal has been the talk of the papers for the last couple of days as the Portuguese has showed his wonderful physical level by scoring a goal most 33 years old would never dream of.

The Portuguese has now scored in all 9 Champions League games he has played this season, scoring 14 goals in the 9 games played. Ronaldo would now be eying the record of 17 goals in a Champions League season, previously set by him in 2014.

Ronaldo’s overhead kick gained praise from all around the globe and one praise came from a good old friend of Cristiano Iker Casillas. Iker Casillas took to twitter to applaud Cristiano as he wrote:

“Real Madrid were spectacular in Turin. The work of the team was great.”

“I congratulate Cristiano in particular, what a great goal! Bad luck my friend, Gigi Buffon.”

Honestly, Buffon could only stand there and stare as the ball went past him into the back of the net. Real Madrid now host Juventus for the return leg this Wednesday at the Bernabeu.
