Juventus midfielder Khedira urges everyone to stop crying and concentrate on league title

It has been three days since Real Madrid has knocked out Juventus from the UEFA Champions League thanks to a last minute penalty from Real Madrid’s talisman Cristiano Ronaldo. Since then, the Italian media, fans and players have shown their disappointment with the decision and have said that it wasn’t a deserved penalty.

While opinions have differed on either sides, some have said it’s a penalty while others say it wasn’t. However, one of Juve’s own players Sami Khedira wants the drama to finish and urges everyone to move on from the penalty drama.

In an interview broadcasted by Juventus, Sami Khedira said:

“Playing at the [Estadio Santiago] Bernabeu and coming back is almost impossible and we did it for 90 minutes, but sometimes the matches last longer.”

“At the end of the game we were unhappy, and it’s very hard to take. But this is football; we must accept it and congratulate Real Madrid.”

Khedira also insisted that Juventus team is proud for the fight they put in because no one gave them a chance after the result in the first leg.

“We are proud of what we did, even if we didn’t qualify. It was a fantastic game, which nobody expected and in which we showed why we are one of the best teams in Europe.”

“Crying and looking for excuses doesn’t work. Now we must look ahead and concentrate on the league title and the Italian Cup, which are two major objectives.”

Juventus now turn their attention to the Serie A where they host Sampdoria tomorrow.
