Kylian Mbappe was one of the most sort out players in the summer transfer window. The young sensation from France led AS Monaco to Ligue 1 title ahead of French giants PSG and he was a hot favorite to sign for European Champions Real Madrid. However, PSG won the bid for Mbappe and signed the youngster ahead of Real Madrid.
PSG Manager Unai Emery has received a lot of criticism as his side was knocked out of the Champions League. However, Mbappe believes the coach doesn’t deserve any criticism.
“It’s not Unai Emery who lost, it’s PSG so it’s up to all of us to be whistled. We are the ones on the pitch.”
“It is true that afterwards has been difficult but we are professionals, we must turn the page, and immediately move on. We will give everything for the three titles that remain.”
Mbappe insisted that PSG were very focused on the big game against Madrid and they trained in the best way possible despite the absence of star player Neymar.
“Mentally, we wanted to face the game against Madrid as best as possible. Nobody can say that we didn’t try, but this is football.”
On being asked what was the major difference between the two sides in the Champions League tie. Mbappe said:
“Although we have great players, but Real Madrid showed PSG the difference between great players and Champions.”
PSG now turn their attention to the Ligue 1 fixtures where they sit comfortably on top with a 14 points advantage over second placed AS Monaco.
