Paris Saint Germain are currently on a hot streak in Europe and the French club lead the Ligue 1 table with 8 points. However, they might be in for some trouble due to financial fair play regulations. The Paris club completed a World Record transfer of Brazilian sensation Neymar last summer.
Neymar’s 198 million pound move from Barcelona to Paris and French Youngster Kylian Mbappe’s 162 million pound loan move from Monaco to PSG were adjudged to be completed correctly.
But as it stands, Di Maria’s move away from Paris to Barcelona last summer was scuppered due to UEFA’s investigation into PSG’s fair play regulations.
Because of this probe the Catalan Club was unable to bring the former Real Madid winger to Barcelona.
However, now UEFA states that the French Club has to raise 61 million pounds by the end of the season to avoid being axed from the Champions League next season.
The French club now needs to axe out some players to comply with the financial fair play regulations. Their selling spree already started last summer with the departure of Matuidi, Jean-Kevin, Serge Aurier.
Now PSG seem desperate to offload Angel Di Maria and Lucas Moura to comply with the financial fair play regulations. Lucas Moura is finding it hard to find a game with the Ligue 1 leaders and he’ll be looking to make a move away. Barcelona seemed to be interested in Di Maria’s services but the arrival of Coutinho has ended their pursuit of the former Real Madrid winger.
