Real Madrid thrashed Juventus at Turin, Italy in front of a jam packed home support for the Italians. The game didn’t start well for Juventus as Cristiano Ronaldo made his presence felt by scoring as early as in the third minute of the game. Juventus played strong enough to finish the first half only a goal behind.
However, at the start of the second half, Real Madrid upped the intensity and an acrobatic effort from Cristiano Ronaldo saw them go 0-2 up against a hopeless Juventus side.
Paulo Dybala’s red opened up the game for Real Madrid who went on to score a third thanks to Marcelo’s beautiful finish.
Ronaldo might have stolen the show for his remarkable performance but there’s one man who has been in the news for wrong reasons. Real Madrid’s captain, Sergio Ramos picked up a yellow which means he will miss the return leg against Juventus.
Ramos talked to the press after the game and praised his team’s efforts.
“We were impeccable. It was a very good result. Everything was perfect, and now, we have to finish the job at home.”
Ramos also praised Ronaldo for his outrageous overhead goal and dismissed the criticism faced by the Portuguese.
“It was a great goal from Cristiano. He has won many awards and people have recognised him being at the top level for years.”
“Some people have said that Cristiano is in a terrible state (finished), well I hope he can stay there for the rest of the season.”
