Real Madrid and Liverpool face off in three days’ time to battle it out for the biggest prize in Club Football. The Champions League is a dream of all the clubs and it comes down to two teams who stand a chance to take home the most anticipated trophy in club football.
Real Madrid Captain Sergio Ramos talked to ‘El Partidazo de Cope’ ahead of the Champions League Final. Ramos revealed his confidence for the Final but did not underestimate Liverpool.
“Its great to believe that we are better. We have overcome tough challenges this year but Liverpool are a dangerous team. Not only Salah and Firmino. Their Manager knows how to get the best out of them.” (as reported by Spanish Website AS)
Ramos was asked if he prefers to start with BBC upfront and the Real Madrid Captain replied:
“With BBC, sometimes we have played amazing and sometimes worse. Zidane will not be sure whom to start until the last minute. He is very unpredictable, he can play anyone.” (as quoted by Spanish Website AS)
Ramos also talked about the importance of having a player like Cristiano in the team as the Portuguese has been in stunning form this season having scored 15 goals in 12 Champions League games.
“Cristiano is arguably the best Real Madrid player ever. These years he has emphasized on collective titles and we have seen the results. We are proud of him and what he has done,” said Ramos (as per Spanish Website AS)
Lastly, Ramos had some strong words for Real Madrid haters including own fans who left the team during hard times.
“We know how to live with the criticism. We knew that we are going to face strong teams in the Champions League and all of them were favourites but we have been shutting mouths with our performances on the field.”
Regarding criticism from own fans, the Real Madrid Captain said:
“Many jumped out of the ship when we lost the league to Barca. We had a lot of people criticizing us. There are people who only join our ship when we are going to celebrate at the Cibeles but we would like to fill our ship with Spartans who stay with us during the bad times. In the good times, its very easy,” concluded Ramos. (as quoted by Spanish website AS)
