Zidane: La Liga is tough but Champions League is the best

Real Madrid Manager Zinedine Zidane spoke to media ahead of his side’s final home game of the season. Madrid have cut a sorry figure in Spain but the Whites have impressed yet again in Europe reaching their third consecutive Final in the UEFA Champions League. Zidane’s side face Liverpool as they aim to become the first team to win three Champions League titles in a row.

Before facing Liverpool in the Final, Zidane’s men have two La Liga games to deal with. Real Madrid face Celta Vigo in their last home game of the season and Zidane talked to the media ahead of the game.

“It’s a shame, it’s the last game in our stadium. We want to give the joy to our fans by winning the game,” said Zidane (as reported by Spanish website MARCA)

Zidane also answered the critics his team has received in the domestic campaign as they have failed to impress.

“We can’t control the criticism, it’s part of our life. We do this work and we have to accept criticism when things do not go well for us.”

“The fault is not those who play less, it’s everyone and the first to blame is me.”We are all in the same boat but I’m responsible,” said Zidane. (as per MARCA)

Lastly, Zidane emphasized the importance of winning the Champions League calling it the best competition.

“We are in the final of the Champions League and we want to defend our title.”

“The Champions League is the one that everyone wants to win. Yes, the other day I said that LaLiga is the most difficult competition, but in the end the Champions League is the best,” concluded Zidane (as per Spanish website MARCA)
