Zinedine Zidane casts doubt over Cristiano Ronaldo’s possible return from injury

Real Madrid’s talisman Cristiano Ronaldo suffered a blow to his ankle during the game against Barcelona and the Portuguese was substituted at half time in Camp Nou. Initially it was believed that Ronaldo’s injury isn’t much serious but serious doubts have been caused over the Portuguese’s return as he recovers from ankle sprain.

Real Madrid face Sevilla in midweek and the squad is set to undergo big changes once again. As per reported by Spanish Website MARCA, Zidane talked to the reporters during the pre-match press conference and was uncertain about Ronaldo’s return.

Talking about the game against Sevilla, Zidane said:

“I’m sure that they’ll go all out, this coach has a high intensity, a pressure.” I saw the game against Real Sociedad and they pushed them to the max, a good game awaits us.” (As per MARCA)

Zidane was asked about his side’s draw against Barcelona as Real Madrid were a point of number of unfair decisions. However Zidane said:

“There are people who know what happened but it won’t change anything, there’s a lot of talk but it won’t change, we drew and it’s over.”

“The problem is that people talk about controversy, it’s true that sometimes they talk too much. It’s better to stop with the game of football than the controversy, I’m a fan of football more than of controversy.” (As reported by MARCA)

Zidane was also asked about the possible return of Cristiano Ronaldo but the Frenchman was unsure on when Cristiano would be available to play again.

“I don’t think if he’ll be available for the last league game against Villarreal.”

“We have to be positive, when there are injuries like Cristiano we think about recovering as soon as possible. What’s incredible is that he (Ronaldo) is walking after 48 hours and it shows his ambition,” said Zidane (as per MARCA)
