Real Madrid knocked PSG out of the Champions League and the elimination of the French club has led to speculations that it would be difficult for them to keep hold of their Brazilian star player Neymar. A move back to La Liga seems a possibility for Neymar but not to Barcelona. The Brazilian is linked with a move to Spanish club Real Madrid.
Zidane’s Real Madrid have just hit the top gear at the right time of the season. Having knocked out PSG from the Champions League, Zidane’s men await their next opponent for the Quarter Finals.
Real Madrid also bounced back in La Liga with a 1-2 win over Eibar last Saturday with Cristiano Ronaldo again scoring both the goals for Los Blancos.
Zidane talked to the press after his side’s victory over Eibar and he was also asked his views about a possible Neymar move to the Spanish Capital. The Frenchman answered:
“I’m not going to talk about a player that is not mine. Neymar is an exceptional player and he can fit into any team in the World.”
“[PSG] paid 222m euros for him. When Real bought me it was 72m euros or I don’t know how much, and it seemed crazy to me. Ten years later it is 222m euros. Within ten years we may reach 400m euros, or before.”
The 26 year old Neymar is now sidelined with injury and he’d be hoping to recover in time for the FIFA World Cup in Russia.
